What role you will play in our team

Provide strategic, technical, and operational aviation advisory services to support ExxonMobil’s onshore and offshore operations in Mozambique. The Aviation Advisor ensures all aviation activities (fixed-wing, rotary-wing, medevac, chartered and contracted aviation) are conducted safely, compliantly, cost-effectively, and in alignment with ExxonMobil Global Aviation Standards, Mozambican regulations, and international best practice.

Job to be performed in Maputo city – Mozambique

What you will do

Act as the aviation subject-matter expert (SME) for ExxonMobil operations in Mozambique.

Ensure full compliance with:

ExxonMobil Aviation Operations Guide (AOG) standards

Mozambican Civil Aviation Authority (IACM) regulations

Support implementation and oversight of: Safety Management Systems, Aviation risk assessments (offshore and medevac) and Air Operator Audits (initial, recurrent, spot audits).

Provide technical input into: Aviation contracts and tender evaluations, Aircraft selection (rotary/fixed wing, IFR/VFR capability, offshore performance), Helideck and airstrip certification and operational readiness and participate in incident investigations, root-cause assessments, and corrective action tracking.

Serve as ExxonMobil’s focal point with: Mozambican aviation authorities (IACM), Airport and helideck operators, Joint-venture partners and contractors.

About You

  • Leadership skills with a multi-national workforce.
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbally) to both management, peers, and subordinates.
  • Customer service focus to ensure costumer relations are cultivated and maintained during challenging situations.
  • Experienced and in cost management and budget development.
  • Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or ICAO-recognized Aviation Safety / Operations certification.
  • IOSA Auditor (IATA) or equivalent aviation audit qualification.
  • Safety Management Systems (SMS) certification (ICAO or IATA compliant).

Skills And Qualifications

  • Advance English level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Aviation Management, Aeronautical / Aerospace, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Transportation, Logistics, or related technical discipline.
  • 5 – 10 years of progressive aviation experience, including:
  • Operational aviation roles (pilot, flight ops, aviation manager, aviation safety).
  • Experience supporting oil & gas, offshore, or extractive industry operations.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Master’s degree in Aviation Management, or Engineering.
  • Previous role as: Aviation Advisor / Aviation Manager for IOC, NOC, or major EPC.
