Vaga – Customer Service – Operations (Import and Export)
We are currently managing the recruitment for a prominent international freight forwarder’s team in Maputo. We are looking for an Operations Specialist with a minimum of 1 year of experience in maritime traffic and a strong command of CargoWise to ensure seamless import and export services for their global clientele.

Mission of the Role
To manage assigned maritime traffic processes (import and export) from end to end, ensuring compliance with company quality standards and guaranteeing excellence in customer service.
Main Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Full end-to-end process monitoring for clients and agents.
- Traffic management, shipment follow-up, and arrival notifications.
- Informing clients regarding the status of customs inspections (Green/Orange/Red channels).
- Coordinating deliveries following customs clearance.
- Managing potential insurance claims with the provider.
Import / Export Operations
- Opening bookings and files within CargoWise.
- Coordinating with shipping lines and carriers according to approved quotes.
- Managing pre-alerts and documentation.
- Maintaining permanent contact with all stakeholders in the process.
- Liaising with the warehouse when applicable.
- Reporting to the Team Leader and escalating critical incidents.
Customs Coordination
- Liaising with the Customs Department for clearance.
- Monitoring and prioritizing files/processes.
- Requesting and coordinating the issuance of customs documents (EUR1, Certificates of Origin, etc.).
Documentation and Invoicing
- Preparing necessary documentation (Loading Orders, Bills of Lading, Transport Orders, etc.).
- Sending documentation to shippers, consignees, and agents.
- Issuing client invoices and validating supplier invoices.
- Recording and archiving all documentation in internal systems.
Compliance and Management System
- Compliance with Quality, Compliance, Health and Safety at Work, GDPR, and environmental best practices.
- Supporting supplier evaluation and documentary control.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Traffic Operator within a freight forwarder.
- Experience in maritime import and export traffic.
- Strong operational knowledge (experience with CargoWise is highly valued).
